The grand proportions of the interior of this first floor apartment in a historic Georgian building, offered the possibility to create a bold, seamless reorganisation of the internal spaces.
The numerous small and randomly sized rooms that filled the formerly imposing volumes which span laterally over 2 buildings, were stripped out entirely and the lofty proportions restored.
The main hallway has been changed to a clean axis along the length of the property where some low and some unusually high, ceiling heights were unified throughout.
Continuous panelling has been inserted to flow through the whole property at a lower height to add warmth and a more approachable proportion.
Rooms adjoin through flush, concealed doors.
A moving panel in one of the master bedroom allows the gardens that are an important feature to the light-filled rooms, continue to be visible to inner areas.
