Brand identity
The project consisted of transforming a top floor area from a collection of small rooms and corridors making 3 apartments into a seamless 350 square metre penthouse apartment that embraces the stunning views across the city to the sea and the neighbouring forested hilltop. Major limitations were the 1970's structure of repeated columns and pillars and the surrounding constant intrusion of neighbouring properties. The whole structure was stripped back to the basic structural elements with exterior and interior walls completely removed. Window treatments were redesigned to frame views, create a sense of internal calmness and allow in light while blocking sight of the neighbours. Sliding partitions allow the major areas to work as one or be separated into independent spaces.
